Art Projects International is pleased to present Line and Light, an exhibition of ten new acrylic and oil paintings by Il Lee, many completed in 2022. Renowned for his non-representational line work, in these recent paintings, Lee speedily carves animated curves through pliant paint to reveal colors below. The entangled lines may create a field of connected forms or a single event.

Art Projects International is pleased to present Color as Space featuring works by Bahar Behbahani, Mariano Ferrante, Seokmin Ko, Il Lee, Soo Im Lee, Filipe Rocha da Silva, Gwenn Thomas, Richard Tsao, and others. The exhibition foregrounds color and brings attention to how contemporary artists use color, beyond any synesthetic tendencies, to define concept, dimension, and territory.

Art Projects International is pleased to present Monocromo, paintings by Mariano Ferrante. The exhibition focuses on Ferrante’s works from the last two years and presents paintings of complex two-dimensional structures that reveal themselves as monochromes when viewed from a distance.

“The Excursion that I Missed” is the largest work in “Myong Hi Kim: Portraits,” measuring 47 1/2 x 141 3/4 inches. Inspired by a personal experience of a school trip the artist missed out on as a child, the painting tells a story of the loss. A group of young girls, some holding cherry blossoms, stand out from the blackness of the chalkboard. Kim adds her own text over the existing markings on the chalkboard – mathematical notations, random names and informal notes – left by the school children long gone.
