September 30 – November 7, 2021

Art Projects International is pleased to announce that Myong Hi Kim’s large-scale work School Excursion That I Missed 2011, a fourteen-foot wide painting in her signature medium of oil pastel on chalkboard, is on view at the Gangwon Triennale 2021 in South Korea from September 30 to November 7, 2021. The exhibition features works by 139 international artists from 38 countries at multiple venues throughout Gangwon Province, including Wadong Primary School where Myong Hi Kim’s work is installed. Given the artist’s longstanding connection to the region, the circumstances surrounding her use of an abandoned schoolhouse as her studio and her unconventional oil pastel on chalkboard works, Wadong Primary School is an ideal setting for her work.
