In his first New York exhibition, Beijing based artist Zheng Xuewu exhibits large, striking, labor-intensive works on paper. On a single work’s surfaces, on a colored ground, Zheng will make thousands of prints from woodblocks he has carved, cast metal printing type, stamps and other found objects; he finishes the work by painting into it by hand. Zheng’s unusual and harmonious amalgamation of techniques as well as his highly individual aesthetic result in immediate, engaging work. Art Projects international is pleased to bring to New York an exceptional artist already widely exhibited and well known in China.
